The IFFP FY 2025–2026 Annual Report

This past year has been an extraordinary time of reflection, celebration, and structural transformation for the Interfaith Families Project. Most notably, we officially celebrated a historic milestone: IFFP’s 30th Anniversary.

Our newly released FY 2025–26 Annual Report captures the joys, resilience, and shared leadership that defined this landmark program year. It also highlights several exciting milestones and vital structural shifts that position us for a thriving future.

Key Highlights From This Past Year

  • Curriculum Innovation: Under the guidance of our Sunday School Curriculum Workgroup, we introduced a brand-new approach to youth education: the Spiral Curriculum. Moving away from isolated, grade-themed lessons, this model ensures our students revisit core annual pillars—such as holiday cycles, sacred texts, and social justice—with increasing depth as they mature, building functional interfaith literacy across all grades.
  • Staffing & Board Transitions: We officially welcomed Denise Schainker as our new Community Education Director, whose vision is already bringing tremendous energy to our Sunday School families. We also bid a fond farewell to Administrative Director Miranda Hovemeyer, offering our deepest gratitude for her thirteen years of service. Additionally, we extend our profound thanks to outgoing Board Chair Felise Shellenberger, and we eagerly step forward under the leadership of our incoming Board Chair, Tracy Katz.
  • Fundraising & Operational Efficiencies: Our 30th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign was a resounding success thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community. To support our long-term stability and growth, we also successfully migrated our pledge and payment tracking to Realm, creating smoother financial reporting and automated tax statements.
  • Safety & Security: Led by our Safety Committee, we prioritized physical security upgrades to protect our multi-generational community. Utilizing a renewed Montgomery County security grant, we updated our policies, conducted a security assessment, and purchased vital safety equipment, including a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED), walkie-talkies, and a trauma kit.
