Rabbi Debbie’s Passover Message For 2026

Passover remains one of the most beloved and significant observances in the Jewish calendar. Through the interactive and engaging Seder, we bring together family and community, blending ancient tradition with modern innovation. We are invited to retell the story of liberation from Egypt not as a distant historical event, but with the mindset of having been there ourselves. We actively imagine the collective pain, fear, and ultimate elation of that journey. In doing so, we create a living memory, joining generations past who have sat at their tables to retell this story—each year the same, yet each year profoundly different.

This year we tell our Passover story against a backdrop of war and strife. We live in a time of uncertainty for many who live in the shadow of joblessness, dispossession, and disheartenment. During this holiday season I urge us all to delve into our wells of compassion. Let us find our internal strength to bolster ourselves and the generosity to support others. Together, may we hold fast to the hope that we will persevere like the Israelites in Egypt and find our way to freedom and peace.

May you all have a blessed and joyous Passover,
